StudioNow, a site aimed at freelance video and digital film editors, has raised $1.5 million in a first round funding. Claritas Capital led the round. Fred Goad and Jim Kever, original founders of Envoy, a precursor to WebMD, also participated in the round. The financing will be used to expand the Nashville, TN-based company’s marketing, technology development and operations. StudioNow launched in beta back in March. The site also markets an online editing system to consumers and small businesses through its StudioNow Editor Network. Release
