Universal Music Group (UMG) and Germany’s net mobile AG (net-m) have expanded their existing partnership in Germany to cover the rest of Europe, Asia pacific and South America. The goal is to prepare UMG’s web and WAP services for a more aggressive D2C push. (The companies hint that the scope could cover as many as 150 portals in the next two years.) According to the terms of the agreement, net-m will be responsible for content delivery to PCs and mobile phones (dual delivery), as well as billing, management and warehousing. (Release)
