– YouTube And CNN Sponsor Debates: CNN and YouTube are sponsoring two presidential debates. The two forums will feature video questions submitted to YouTube which will be broadcast and answered by the candidates live on CNN (with some YouTube questioners in the audience). The Democratic debate will be held on Monday, July 23, while the Republican forum will take place on Monday, Sept. 17.
— NBCU And Netflix Produce Online Show: NBC Universal Digital Studios will produce a web series for Netflix’s main site to introduce viewers to classic films. The broadband show, which launches later this year, is called I Love This Movie! and will highlight a classic film in each webisode. New webisodes, 2-3 minutes long, will appear every other week. — Yahoo And iTunes Japan Combo: Yahoo Music Japan is connecting with that country’s iTunes music store to allow iPod users to download songs and other content. Visitors to the Yahoo Music Japan site will be able to search for musicians, tracks and albums, as well as news, reviews and purchases all linked to the iTunes store.
— CinemaNow Relaunches Music Video Service: Online movie download site CinemaNow has revived its WatchMusicHere music video service. The service debuted two years ago. Warner Music Group is serving as the service’s exclusive content provider through July 21. Videos are priced at $2 and are available as a single-file format. Before the relaunch, users had to download one version for their PC and a different version for portable video players.
— Grouper Partners With Sony TV Series: Rescue Me, the Sony Pictures Television drama about post-9/11 firefighting that just started its summer season, has partnered with user generated content site Grouper to launch a reality program. Firehouse: Sponsored by Rescue Me is currently seeking footage the public at large as well as from real firefighters across the country. Additionally, FX and Sony Pictures Television have created tailored landing pages on their sites to drive fans to the Grouper site.
