Chinese Handsetmaker Lenovo Ties Up With Mobile Search Provider

A rather cryptic announcement from Chinese handset manufacturer Lenovo and Chinese mobile search provider Cgogo creates more questions than answers. The two companies announced a joint venture to deliver mobile search services to Lenovo devices, but it isn’t clear what form this service will take. We know it’s not a plug-in (Cgogo cooperated with Nokia on such a scheme, plugging its local search into Nokia’s Series60 platform on Nokia Nseries devices). The tie-up with Lenovo is about developing devices with a pre-set link (dedicated button, perhaps?) called the “life relax link.” This link enables clients to search for information anytime, anywhere. “It is not possible to easily read hundreds of results on handsets like we can on PCs, so the proposed ‘accuracy search’ will be just what young people need,” Cgogo said in a statement. My take: Since Cgogo plays in the contextual/conceptual search space
