Tony Garcia of FXLabs Studios, the company that is developing the Dhoom II PC game for Yash Raj Films tells the Hindu that PC gaming is more likely to succeed in India than console gaming. He blames the rather prohibitive price of consoles and games for this. But that’s why players like Zapak and Games2Win are betting on casual games and MMOGs. I guess advertising revenue is a more dependable than expecting people to buy games in a country where piracy is high. I wonder what kind of pricing Garcia thinks will work in this country…
Yash Raj Films is expected to distribute the game through its network and channel partners, probably around the time of the Dhoom III launch. FXLabs Studios has also developed a PC game called Inferno, entirely in India.
