UK commercial radio leader GCap Media’s marketing and interactive director Jim Cruickshank will quit the company in the next few months to join map site Multimap as B2C general manager. Cruickshank oversaw online and CRM strategy, including a relaunch of radio station websites and the launch of Mi-Xfm, a limited personalized radio player allied to the Xfm alternative music channels that is now due to be rolled out across the network. GCap, seeking to replace dissipating radio ad revenue, last week pledged to invest £2.5 ($4.9) million more in interactive developments over the next year after reporting a large fall in profits. Commercial director Duncan George resigned the day before. A replacement for Cruickshank is reportedly not expected until MD Fru Hazlitt completes a review of the company’s interactive department (Via mad.co.uk (sub. req.), MediaWeek).
