BW.com: After serving as acting editor-in-chief of BusinessWeek.com for the past two months, John Byrne is officially moving over from his role as the magazine’s executive editor/eic. Byrne succeeds Kathy Rebello, who had been in the post since July 2005. Rebello left the site to “pursue other opportunities.” Release

Digitas: Alan Rutherford is leaving his position as VP of global media for packaged goods giant Unilever to become CEO of Digitas Global, the newly formed the division of the Publicis Groupe interactive shop that will manage its worldwide initiatives. Rutherford will join Digitas in September and be based in London. He will report to David Kenny, Digitas chairman and CEO. Release

LATimes.com: Scott Sullivan has been named chief technology officer for the LATimes.com. Formerly CIO for Edmunds.com and SVP of technology operations and engineering for Yahoo/ Overture Services, Sullivan will manage the company’s overall interactive and print transformation as it moves into a phase of aggressive new online product development and improved infrastructure support over the next year.
