Although the number of music-playing mobile phones is increasing, that’s not a function of demand so much as supply. NPD has a good analysis of MP3 phones on the market (a 66 percent increase in the number of MP3-capable phones over the past year), as well as the number of people using them: “the percent of people who have a music enabled phone and actually use it as an MP3 player has only grown 10 percent, from 43 percent in Q2 2006 to 48 percent in Q1 2007″.
