Industry Moves Roundup: NYT.com; ABC; Nielsen Business Media; Aggregated Knowledge; F+W

NYT.com: Two promotions at the NYT’s online division: Nicholas Ascheim is being moving up from director of entertainment, video and audio products to the role of VP, editorial products. Also, Eliot Pierce, director of product management and development, has been named VP, operations and strategy. Ascheim will oversee product development for all editorial sections of the site and will continue to manage video and audio. Pierce will oversee business development, strategic planning and special projects. (Release)

ABC: Wendell Foster is being bumped up from his role the ABC network’s VP for research to the newly created role of VP of multiplatform program planning and scheduling. Foster will act as the primary liaison between ABC’s scheduling and other departments, such as digital media, current programming, affiliate relations, sales, news, ESPN and research for the multiplatform and primetime/non-primetime scheduling. Nielsen Business Media: Sabrina Crow has been promoted SVP of Nielsen Business Media’s Marketing & Media Group, which houses Adweek, Brandweek, Mediaweek, Editor & Publisher and several other properties. She replaces Mike Parker, who is leaving the company to pursue a non-business-to-business venture. Crow joined the company in April as VP of the Marketing & Media Group, and her primary responsibility has been to manage digital strategy. Adweek

Aggregate Knowledge: A number of hires at this online content recommendation company in the past week. Steve Pantelick, formerly the CFO of Kodak Gallery (previously Ofoto Inc.), will have the same title at AK (Release). Dave Peterson as joined as chief marketing officer. Peterson was previously VP of marketing at Mercury Interactive Corporation vice president marketing (Release). Last week, AK named Joe Ghazal, formerly of Motricity, as vice president engineering and Tim Vogel as chief scientist. Vogel recently headed development for the LikeMinds Personalization Server at Macromedia (Release).

F+W Publications: John Lerner, formerly VP of Digital Strategy for Nielsen Business Media, has been hired by F+W as EVP, Interactive Media Division. Lerner reports to Chairman & CEO, David Steward, and is based from the F+W’s New York office. In this new position, Mr. Lerner will be responsible for all online strategy, including sales, business development, marketing, and advertising operations across the company’s various online properties.
