– AOL-JumpTV: AOL has added ethnic TV online broadcaster JumpTV to the international section of its video portal. More than JumpTV 60 channels are currently available on AOL Video, the majority of which are non-English language channels. JumpTV plans to add more channels over the next few months.
— Broadband EMMY Nominees: For the Daytime EMMYs’ broadband category, Comedy Central, the Michael Eisner-backed Vuguru and NBC were the top nominees. For the first time this year, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences partnered with MySpace to solicit user-generated content, too. This resulted in a nomination for Satacracy 88, a weekly drama series that allows users to vote on the ending each week. The winners will be announced June 14.
— Joost Adds Bollywood, Aardman: Saavn, a New York-based content provider of Hindi films, TV shows and music videos, has signed a distribution deal with Joost. Also, Joost will have a branded channel devoted to Aardman Animations, the U.K. studio behind Wallace & Gromit and CBS’ forthcoming Creature Comforts. Aardman accelerated its digital distribution strategy this year; it is already creating channels on Orange, Vodafone, T-Mobile, O2 and 3 in the UK and is getting distribution in North America via Player-X.
— Arby’s Sponsors Online NBC Comedy Compilation: Arby’s fast food restaurant is the sole sponsor of thelunchbreakshow.com, a 30-minute collection of NBC’s various comedy shows, including 30 Rock, The Office and Saturday Night Live, airing daily from noon to 2:00 p.m.
— Takkle Partners With Lacrosse Companies: High schools sports social net Takkle has added three lacrosse sites: womenslacrosse.com, Brine, and MadLax. The companies plan to market their products to the social net’s members.
— Slate Set To Launch New Video Feature: Slate.com is preparing to unveil Slate V, an online video site, on June 25. The online magazine has hosted videos on its site since August, but this more formal channel promises at least one new video a day. One regular feature called Damned Spot will consist of short videos that dissect political ads.
