OK, it’s not like we didn’t know these were about to appear, but the good news is that you can actually order a new Lenovo X61 Tablet PC and expect to see it shipped about two weeks later. Hit up the product page for the new tabby along with some discounts; the base unit has the $2,029 price slashed to $1,609 and there are some good accessory deals as well. The starting package includes:
- 12.1-inch SXGA Multi-View screen; upgrade to Multi-Touch for $100
- Intel® Core™ 2 Duo L7500 LV at 1.6 GHz
- Windows Vista Home Premium included, upgrades include Vista Business and Ultimate
- 512 MB of 667 MHz RAM; you’ll likely want 1 GB minimum ($55 – $65), 2 GB would be better ($165)
- 60 GB 5400 RPM hard drive; various faster and higher capacity drives are available
- No Bluetooth ($29 to add); 802.11a/b/g integrated
- 8-cell Lithium-Ion batter
Gotta Be Mobile has one in the house as of yesterday, so stay tuned as I expect one of their famous Ink Shows to provide all of the details behind the new Lenovo X61.
