Digital film distribution company UFO Moviez has announced plans to expand its network of digital film distribution to 1000 screens by Diwali, reports the Telegraph. The company has so far installed 650 screens across India. In Bengal, the’ve got 55 screens, and expect to cover 150 over the next three months. The Financial Express adds that for each screening, the company earns Rs. 200 from the exhibitor and Rs. 250 from the distributor, and will be offering a 25 percent discount for Bengali films in the state. The company also recently installed their second digital cinema system in Bihar, reports Business of Cinema.
Makarand Karanjkar recently joined from Dolby labs as the Chief Technology Officer of UFO Moviez’ international arm UFO International, reports Glamsham.
