Western Digital joins the 250 GB notebook drive party today and at very competitive price. $199 is the MSRP for the WD Scorpio, which is, let me see….carry the two….divide by seven….and…uh…well lets just say it’s inexpensive at under a dollar a gig. PMR or Perpendicular Magnetic Recording is the magic that allows for so many bits and bytes to be crammed in a 2.5-inch drive. The new WD Scorpio provides WhisperDrive technology (something I’d love for the kids to have in the car) to keep the 5200 RPM spinner at its quietest
I know I’m in the minority, but when will see some uber-capacity in the 1.8-inch form factor?
