Analyst Celent has predicted strong growth for mobile banking in the US, growing from less than one percent of online bankers in 2006 to 35 percent of online bankers by 2010. Mobile banking will start with checking balances and paying bills but move onto contactless payments, reports Cellular News. Apparently 40 percent of Generation Y indicated that “mobile financial services will be a factor in their choice of bank”.
