Two separate angel fundings to report on:
— Online publishing tool Veotag has raised $750K from angel investors. The funding came from Paul Gelburd, managing partner of Tam Partners, who led a group of angel backers. Also backing Veotag’s funding was William O. Perkins, III, founder and manager of Small Ventures USA. Veotag, which assigns navigational “tags” to audio and video files, plans to use the funds to market its platform for making web audio and video searchable by audiences, search engines and ad serving engines.
— mTraks, a social music community and digital music marketplace site, has raised $550K from a group of private angel investors. The company just launched in public beta mode. mTraks offers music for sale by both individual track downloads and a subscription-based model. The site has a catalog of from 6,000 independent record labels and 750,000 songs licensed from independent labels and music acts worldwide. Release
