Earnings: US Cellular Sees 12 Percent Increase In Revenue

US Cellular has released its first quarter results for the three months ending March 31. Service revenues grew by 12 percent year-on-year to $860.6 million, while operating income increased 55 percent year-on-year to $108.5 million, and net profit jumped 88.6 percent to $74.4 million. Data revenue increased by 71 percent year-on-year to $77.6 million, or 9 percent of total service revenues, while ARPU increased by 5 percent to $48.69. The carrier gained 152,000 customers during the quarter bringing the total to 5.4 million subscribers, notes RCRNews.
