Napster has released its first quarter earnings for the three months ending March 31st. The company hasn’t broken out revenue for its mobile business, but it is a significant part. Revenues for the quarter increased 9 percent year-on-year to $29.1 million, and the net loss almost doubled year-on-year to $8.5 million. For the full year ending March 31st net revenue increased by 17 percent to $111.1 million, and the net loss fell by 33 percent to $36.8 million for the year.
Some mobile deals in the quarter:
— Announced a joint marketing agreement with Motorola, where Napster will be Motorola’s exclusive in-box digital music service partner.
— Announced that it will soon launch the first deployment of its unlimited over-the-air (OTA) music subscription service through Napster Japan.
— Partnered with AT&T to give customers free unlimited access for one year to more than 3 million song tracks through Napster To Go.
