Mobile payment company Obopay has launched a plug-in service for AOL’s instant messaging service, AIM. The plug-in lets users add money to their Obopay accounts and check account balance and history from their AIM service, as well as send payments to the mobile phone of any of their AIM buddies who have signed up with Obopay. Customers can withdraw funds by linking their Obopay account to their bank account or by getting a Mastercard debit card, and while users must be 18 to sign for an Obopay account those who are 13-17 can get their parents to create a sub-account for them, and use a pre-paid card to add funds.
