Two BBC channels will be carried on IPTV platform in India. The British broadcaster has tied up with IOL Broadband to carry BBC’s two recently launched channels in India, BBC Entertainment and CBeebies, on IPTV platform.
Meanwhile BBC Global Channels senior VP – Asia Pacific Christine Leo-McKerrow told Indiantelevision.com that the company is looking for an India head to oversee its business in India. “India for us is exciting not just because of the size but also because of the cultural connect the BBC has enjoyed with this country over the years. We were certainly more excited about launching here than about launching in Hong Kong. Our plan is more about the long term and we do not expect to immediately start flying in the next six months or a year.”
