Having received an undisclosed amount of funding from fellow Israeli company Gemini Capital back in February, online video ad platform Adap.tv is launching next week as part of a strategic partnership with video site Metacafe. The new ad platform claims to go beyond the traditional pre- and post-roll spots by using the entire video and by using targeting users with ads that “adapt” to viewer behavior in real time. Financial terms were not discussed. The site is headed by Amir Ashkenazi, CEO and co-founder, who previously led Shopping.com (formerly DealTime.com). That company was sold to eBay in August 2005.
