SingTel has released its first quarter results for the three months ending March 31…operating revenue increased 2 percent to S$3.328 billion (US$2.19 billion), however net profit fell 41.2 percent to S$989 million (US$651.3 million). For the full year ending March 31 SingTel reported revenue grew by 0.1 percent to S$13.151 billion (US$8.67 billion), while profit fell 9.2 percent to S$3.779 billion (US$2.49 billion).
On the mobile side, mobile communications first quarter revenue grew 8.7 percent year-on-year to S$238 million (US$156.8 million), and claimed 466,000 3G subscribers. Postpaid ARPU remained stable at S$71 (US$46.8). SingTel earlier reported that its total mobile subscriber base across all its companies increased to 124 million.
Major subsidiary Optus reported a 3.9 percent increase in annual operating revenue to A$7.48 billion (US$6.20 billion), while net profit for the full year increased 36 percent to A$804 million (US$665.9 million).
