Pre-Motorola Showdown Reporting

Bloomberg has a comprehensive piece on Motorola shareholder attitudes on the day of the showdown between Carl Icahn and Ed Zander, which will take place at 4.30 pm in Chicago. According to Bloomberg investor advisory firms are split on the vote, although most of the comments are in favor of Icahn, even if it’s because “it couldn’t hurt”. The investors in favor of Icahn “want him to force the world’s second-biggest mobile-phone maker to revive sales and boost its stock price”… I find it difficult to believe that Zander is being remiss in his efforts to revive sales. They probably have different ideas on how to return value to shareholders, however…
