Avatar Company Clone Interactive Secures $2.8 Million

Digital avatar company Clone Interactive, currently in stealth mode, has raised $2.8 million from Mission Ventures, Selby Ventures, and the Tech Coast Angels, SocialTech reports. The company is developing technology at the University of Southern California that takes images of a face from any digital camera and creates a geometrically perfect, photorealistic 3D model. The company is headed by Jon Kraft, according to USC’s Center For Technology Commercialization. Kraft is president and CEO as well as Chairman, Technology Council of Southern California. Before joining Clone Interactive, Kraft was President, Worldwide Marketing and Distribution for 3D animation company Auryn. And prior to that, he co-founded internet radio service Pandora.
