NPD Buys Part Of Current Analysis; iSuppli Gets Goldman As Investor

Two research firms operating in digital media-related sectors have seen some deal activity in the last week:
NPD, a research firm in digital media, has acquired Current Analysis‘ PC, imaging and consumer electronics businesses…for now, those groups will be called Current Analysis West and maintain their home base in San Diego. Current Analysis will maintain its own research groups on the East Coast specializing in telecommunications, networking and software. Some more details here.
iSuppli, a producer and disseminator of technology-market data, has done a deal with investment firm Goldman Sachs…the bank has taken minority stake in it, and in return iSuppli’s market data and analysis on the electronics industry could reach more than 1,000 technology investment funds through the banking sources.
