Quattro, founded by former m-Qube executives (CEO Andrew Miller was previously senior vice president for business development at m-Qube, CTO Eswar Priyadarshan was formerly an m-Qube executive) has launched with the aim of creating an all-in-one solution to help publishers “create content-rich, ad-infused mobile websites” reports the Boston Globe. “We believed you weren’t going to be able to make mobile advertising work until you made the mobile Web work,” said Miller.
The company has launched a site for Univision Movil featuring breaking news, music, horoscopes, and entertainment on a simple mobile website, and counts Proctor & Gamble as an advertiser. Quattro plans to launch a service, GetMobile.com, “which will be able to take any website and find a way to squish it onto a cellphone screen without stripping content”, which could help smaller publishers and bloggers. It has closed $6 million first round of funding led by Highland Capital Partners.
