Movistar Espana Launches Advertising Initiative

Movistar Espana has launched a mobile advertising initiative which includes banner ads, sponsored links, SMS promotions, short codes which are free to the user and interactive ads in magazines (which have 2D barcodes linking to videos) reports El Pais (in Spanish). The initiative is launched with agreements with Warner Music, Gameloft, mobile for-money casino Zero36 and Norris Marketing. The initial aim is to advertise to the more than 4 million users of the Movistar emocion mobile portal — but Movistar hopes that its 21 million Spanish customers will eventually start using the portal.
