– Turner: Its New Products Group has named Guhan Selvaretnam as VP, new products group lead. Selvaretnam comes from Reuters Group, where he was most recently VP of media strategy.
— BabyCenter: The baby site owned by J&J has hired Judith Meskill as VP of programming, social media officer. Meskill will be responsible for the development and implementation of the company’s social media strategy. Meskill was previously with Weblogs, Inc., an AOL company, where she was General Manager, responsible for the operations and development of the business.
— Mochila: The online content syndication service has appointed Craig Calder as CMO. He was till recently the SVP of marketing at TheStreet.com. Calder is charged with devising a strategy for recruiting more buyers to the global content syndication startup.
— Dubilier: Dealbook also reports another defection from the media side to the investment side: Anne Gordon will leave her post as the managing editor of the Philadelphia Inquirer to become a partner at PE firm Dubilier & Company. Gordon, who joined the daily in 1999 and is a VP at its parent company, Philadelphia Newspapers, will help the Stamford, Conn.-based firm identify potential buyout targets in the media, technology and entertainment companies.
