Toronto, Canada-based Barna-Alper Productions has made a strategic investment of an undisclosed amount in New York-based iThentic, an online and mobile video company. Barna-Alper is one of Canada’s leading independent production companies, while iThentic is a production and distribution service. iThentic considers itself a “tastemaker destination for video”, and in addition to filtering the content it clears the videos for copyright infringement, and organizes the programming into 14 channels to help audiences navigate and more easily find what they are looking for. iThentic has launched two channels (LOL, a comedy service, and Not Seen on TV which is original productions) in Canada on Rogers Vision, while in the US it will launch its mobile video through Cellfish.
