Alltel (NYSE: AT) has reported its first quarter earnings for the three months ending March 31st, reporting a year-on-year increase in revenue of 13 percent, to $2 billion. Net income from its current business was $225 million, up 34 percent from the first quarter in 2006, and ARPU was $54.49 per month — a 2 percent increase year-on-year. Data revenue per customer was $4.70, a 64 percent increase year-on-year and 14 percent sequentially. Alltel added 867,000 customers, up 8 percent over last year.
