MySpace Launches In China; Next Stop May Be India

Social networking site MySpace is launching its Chinese edition today. The site is Since the News Corp-owned site has entered the neighbouring China, it’s likely the company will launch its Indian edition any time. The company had earlier announced its plans to have presence in several new markets like India and China. China is currently the second largest Internet market, and may overtake the US market in future.
The Chinese operations have been licensed to a separate local entity. It has also roped in IDG Ventures China as a partner. Another partner is China Broadband Capital Partners, run by Edward Tian, a former CEO of China Netcom Group. The three partners are putting in $100 million, according to VentureBeat.
