Korea’s GS Home Shopping Considering Entering India

TV18’s home shopping network, Home Shop 18, may soon have a competitor from South Korea. GS Home Shopping, Korea’s largest home shopping retailer, is contemplating venturing into new markets including India. The company, which is also looking to generate more e-commerce revenues, is considering entering countries such as India and Vietnam, Reuters has reported.
GS Home Shopping, set up in 1994 and earlier known as LG Home Shopping, is 30 percent owned by GS Holdings and 28 percent owned by foreign investors. It had entered China in 2005, and has revenues of $15 million from that market. The company is valued at about $600 million in market cap.
