ZenithOptimedia Launches Zed Digital; May Look At Buyouts

ZenithOptimedia, which launched its digital arm Zed Digital in India on Thursday, is keen on buyouts in the digital and search engine space, reports The Economic Times. Steve King, the global CEO of the French advertising and communications company, told the paper: “We would be interested in acquiring players in the mobile and ITeS area but not immediately. Search engine specialists form almost 55 per cent of the total ad spend making it an exciting option.”
It’s now imminent that there will be some buyout action in the Indian digital space. Grey Global is also keen on acquisitions in the interactive space. There is a buzz of several players like Connecturf and WebChutney as potential acquisition candidates. If one gets a good price, why not?
Updated: Agencyfaqs adds: Zed Digital expects online ad spends in India to increase three-fold to Rs 700 crore by 2009. They are also upbeat about mobile advertising. Frederic Joseph, global CEO of Zed Digital, told the portal,
