George Grobar, Disney Mobile’s senior VP/GM, has outlined a heap of new features the MVNO will add to its service, reports Twice. The family-focussed MVNO is also looking for additional retail locations where mothers shop.
–This summer Disney will offer a location scout feature that will show nearby points of interest. Call Control, which lets parents choose when their children can make calls and is accessible through the Disney website, will be accessable through parents handsets.
–In August or later Disney will launch a photo-sharing application that allows one-click uploading of photos — each family member will have a page and there’ll be a shared page. Parents will be able to control whether a child shares photos outside the family.
–Late 2007 or early 2008 Disney will offer an online family calendar that parents can change via PC, and which will push alerts to phones. It will also offer high-end games and other content for download to a PC and sideloading to a phone. Grobar said that Disney wouldn’t offer an EV-DO phone until the price dropped to where Disney could offer it for $99.
–The recently introduced Kid Starter plan, which is an individual plan for kids, will cost $24.99 per month for 200 minutes.
