P2P digital media licensing and distribution company Intent MediaWorks has secured has $10 million in a second round funding. The round was from Bertlesmann Digital Media Investments, the venture arm of Bertlesmann AG, along with Greycroft Partners, SoftBank Capital and Allen & Co. The funds will go towards additional product development, infrastructure and marketing.
Atlanta-based Intent offers legal distribution of licensed music, video, film, games and other content via P2P sites. It has worked with companies such as indie record label Koch Entertainment and Canadian indie Nettwerk Music, which represents entertainers such as Sarah McLachlan, Avril Lavigne and Barenaked Ladies.
