Mumbai based wireless solutions company Enable M has tied up with MBA coaching institute IMS to launch a mobile based preparation guide with dynamic content. Amit Zaveri, COO of Enable M informs ContentSutra that the companies also plan to launch a social networking site based around education, with mobile features.
Enable M has an exclusive partnership (sharing both costs and revenue) with IMS for India, and the tie-up gives them access to a captive audience of around 40,000 IMS students. Using proprietary content from IMS, Enable M has created a learning module for providing content to users via SMS, WAP portals and GPRS. Apart from IMS content, others like for learning english, vedic maths etc can also be provided to users. The service will be available at IMS centers at Rs. 100 per month – which gives them access to 150 push SMS, WAP (Zones for English, Math, Logic & Reasoning and GK) and additional content like tips, flash cards and games. The service goes live in the first week of May in Mumbai, Delhi and Pune, which have around 15,000-18,000 IMS students. They’re also in talks with three operators for the same service, but Zaveri says the cost to consumer will remain the same.
Enable M will be introducing community features like Q&A for assistance from other users, as well a feature called ‘Study Buddy’. This is going to be evolved into a social networking site integrating online and mobile features. I asked Zaveri about whether there would be issues of retaining users in the community, after MBA entrances are over. Other solutions can be evolved for ex-students, he says, and education is just the starting point.
