Sun Network has inked a deal with Reliance Communications for sun TV programmes (soaps, news, debates etc) to be made available on Reliance Mobile World, report the Hindu and Moneycontrol. Financial details of the deal haven’t been disclosed, though the story does mention that the pricing will be uniform across the country – Rs. 15 for five minutes. Apparently, programming will be streamed (live?), and also be available as a downloadable clip. There are plans to introduce audio content as well.
Is there enough bandwidth available today for live video streaming? We’ve also heard about Idea Cellular trying out “Idea TV”, but we’ve not received any response from the company about details.
