BSNL will provide broadband to 1,00,000 schools in India by December 2008, reports the Hindu. Details of the schools covered under this program, which is partly funded by the USO fund, will be finalized by May. The third phase of this four phase initiative will be using wireless technology. BSNL will provide broadband connectivity, while the Ministry of Human Resource Development will provide the schools with PCs. More details on the rollout here.
So who’ll provide the schools with power? Mumbai?
