Sky is set to offer mobile TV to 3G users in a bid to take the platform mass-market. It already offers mobile TV to its premium subscribers, but is about to launch an application for the sky service on 3UK, reports NMA. Sky is already available on mobile phones in some other countries, such as New Zealand and Italy.
The deal in the UK will apparently see “3 subscribers to Sky’s mobile TV service … directed to download the broadcaster’s application rather than use 3’s own portal to view content”.
