Mobile user-generated story site Wattpad has come out of beta and officially launched, after signing up 100K users since the beta launch in January. There’s also some new features, including Blackberry support, the ability to read stories offline, and extra languages after users signed up from diverse countries (it now supports English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese, Dutch, Polish, Romanian, Tagalog, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Hebrew, Arabic, Japanese and Korean. There’s a lot of user-gen sites, but this is the first I know of that focuses on stories. Not everybody wants to make and share silly videos, and there’s not much competition for this. The service is free apart from data — I’m not sure how Wattpad plans to generate revenue.
