Reliance ADAG is in talks to acquire a Bangalore-based animation company, reports Indiantelevison.com. The Anil Ambani group is eyeing Anirights Infomedia, which had created award-winning animated short film, The Bad Egg. Anirights is also in talks with four to five companies including private equity funds and a broadcaster, says the report.
The company is looking to scale up in the IP-driven content business. It’s currently making a TV series called Little Krishna, and also a movie on the same theme. It also has a service business model.
The ADAG has ambitious plans for expanding in all genres of entertainment including, movie exhibition, gaming, animation and so on. The group’s Adlabs Films had last year acquired a majority stake in Siddhartha Basu’s TV content production house Synergy Communications.
