Among the first apps I install on my Windows Mobile devices is Resco Explorer, a powerful combination of multiple functions. Resco Explorer beats the pants off of the native File Explorer and adds file encryption, ZIP support, FTP capabilities, a Registry editor and more. MoDaCo tips us off that the latest and greatest version is now available as a free beta download that’s good for 60 days.
Resco Explorer 2007 builds on the base functionality of the 2005 version and adds some new features such as Bluetooth device memory, FTP speed indication and more. There isn’t a list of just the new features, but if you’re familiar with Resco Explorer 2005, you’ll have a pretty good idea of what’s new and improved. At the moment, it looks like the beta is Pocket PC only, while the 2005 version is available for Pocket PC and Smartphone editions.
