Update: This has been officially announced…Reuters: The group said it had signed an exclusive deal with Bebo for the service in the UK for an undisclosed period of time, and the service would rolled out to other Orange operations. It did not disclose financial terms for the service, expected to be launched this summer.
Orange, the mobile phone operator in UK, is close to a deal with UK’s biggest social network Bebo that will let its 15.3 million UK customers access the site on the move, The Times reports. This will be Bebo’s first mobile deal.
It will allow Orange customers to edit their Bebo profiles, update their blogs and find friends through mobile.
O2 is understood to have been talking to Bebo and the Bebo/Orange partnership is not expected to stay exclusive in the long term.
