Viva Vision has launched a live video mobile traffic monitoring application called LiveTraffic in Mexico City. This is different to its main line of mobile TV, but uses the same sort of technology which will allow the application to show live feeds on 2G networks. The application will be available on Iusacell and Unefon (the absense of market-dominating Telcel is noticable) and draws in feeds from cameras monitoring traffic run by the police and private security firms. Greater Mexico City has around 20 million inhabitants. (release)
