Sprint adds GPS to data plans with pay-per-day option too

Sprint_logoSprint announced the addition of TeleNav’s GPS services today in a revamped premium data plan. Sprint’s new Power Vision Navigation Pack takes the old Power Vision services (Picture Mail, Radio, TV, etc…) and bundles in the location service from TeleNav. Here’s a listing of the new features:

  • Voice-guided and on-screen turn-by-turn GPS-enabled driving directions, which speaks street names for each turn
  • 3-D moving maps similar to an in-car navigation system or personal navigation device
  • Real-time intelligent traffic alerts and one-click rerouting
  • Local search with more than 10 million points of interest
  • Lowest price gas finder
  • Interactive voice response for destination entry by speech instead of text or phone number
  • Pedestrian mode
  • Spanish-language option
  • Pre-trip planning site at www.sprint.com/navigation
  • Don’t have or want a Sprint Power Vision plan? No worries because Sprint gives you the option to use the Power Navigation services for $2.99 a day; I like that price-point for a full day of GPS as needed. Check the press release for full details.
