Following a software update to the Palm 680 and 700p earlier this year, the Palm 650 gets a software upgrade to provide Direct Push e-mail to the smartphone. Along with mail on Microsoft Exchange, you’ll need VersaMail 3.5 on your Palm, which you can purchase with the upgrade included for $12.98. If you already have VersaMail, you’re good to go with this link and $2.99. The real question is: now that Direct Push is available, will you go for it? For some, it’s like a great weight chained to your neck since every note on the server magically appears on your device. I personally use Direct Push e-mail, but you really have to manage it, not have it manage you.
