Samsung has filed a patent for a new way of handling SMS, reports Unwired (via Engadget). The patent, Mobile communication terminal and method of the same for outputting short message, covers a system of linking SMS chains based on the sender rather than the time they were received and displaying them next to a stored picture of the sender. This is a similar concept to that announced for the iPhone, and it should be noted the file date for this patent is September 6, 2006. Unwired has an image of how the system will work.
