Incesoft, a Chinese company that markets IM robots, has closed a $5 million round of funding from a number of investors: Jafco Asia, DFJ ePlant, Intel Capital, Zero2IPO Capital and IDGVC, according to China Web2.0 Review. The seven-year-old company’s main product, an IM robot called Xiaoi, works with of MSN Live Messenger, Yahoo Messenger and Chinese IM tool QQ. For a robot, Xiaoi has a wide range of interests: after users insert the IM tool as a contact, it can chat in any language about the weather, serve as TV guide, a map and provide updates on sports news.
