IK mobile community firm Ymogen has received funding from private investors including Chris Burke, former chief technical officer for Vodafone, the Guardian reports. (Details are thin as the official announcement is tomorrow.) The amount was not disclosed. Burke and Brian Coultas, who has also invested in Ymogen, will become non-executive directors of the company. “Ymogen is an interesting company with some exciting technical thinking in the mobile, web and community-building space,” Burke told the Guardian.
Ymogen is specialized in developing community-oriented mobile campaigns and promotions. To date its community content management system is used by brands including Mercedes Benz. The company has also worked with Five and Endemol.
The company stared as a mobile payments firm in UK and shifted focus later.
