Interactive marketing agency Viewpoint is finalizing plans to acquire Makos Advertising, a full service agency that primarily works in broadcast video. Viewpoint’s purchase of the Austin, TX.-based agency is part of a strategy to offer clients a range of cross platform campaign capabilities. In particular, Viewpoint plans to absorb Makos’ line of broadcast and in-house digital advertising production services with the New York firm’s Unicast product group. Viewpoint had purchased Unicast over two years ago for $7.3 million. The terms for the Makos purchase were not disclosed. Among the 25 clients Makos is bringing to Viewpoint are Dell and Nascar. Viewpoint has worked with marketers such as Fendi, GM, Honda and Pepsi.
This latest acquisition is also meant to focus Viewpoint’s mixed financial picture over the past two years. Earlier today, Viewpoint reported total revenue of $4.3 million for 4Q, a 41 percent decrease from $7.2 million from 4Q05. The company posted profit of $3.1 million for the quarter, which was 31 percent lower than the $4.5 million for 4Q05. Release
