Mobile Content Worth $35 Billion By 2011, $19.3 To Content Providers

iSuppli Corp has predicted the mobile content market will grow to $35.3 billion by 2011 — $7.5 billion of that will go to platform providers, $8.5 billion to mobile operators and $19.3 billion to content providers and aggregators. In 2006 the mobile content revenue market was $16.3 billion, of which $4.2 billion went to platform providers, $4.4 billion to operators and $7.7 billion to content providers and aggregators. Although the mobile content market place is currently fragmented and complicated it should become simplified as large players such as Amdocs, Nokia, Real Networks and Sybase make acquisitions. About half of the content providers revenue will come from the various music categories, said iSuppli. (release)
